Along our journey in life, every person is faced with a very important decision. This is a decision that will determine where we spend eternity.
Lets take a walk down the Romans Road of Salvation…
Our first stop takes us to Romans 3:23…”For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”
What is sin? Simply put, sin is the things we do, say, or think that do not bring honor to God. We have all sinned. God has a standard for perfection and we have all fallen short of that standard.
Our next stop brings us to Romans 6:23 – “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Friend, what we have EARNED through our sin is death. Not just a physical death but an eternal separation from God forever. But God gave us a wonderful gift in His Son, Jesus Christ – ETERNAL LIFE!
As we continue to go on our journey, we will make another stop – this time at Romans 5:8 – “But God commendeth His love towards us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
Though we are sinners, though we deserve an eternal punishment in Hell, God still loves us, and Christ still died for our sins.
Our last stop takes us to Romans 10:9-13 – “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
God gave us this wonderful gift by sending His Son to die a horrible death on the cross – Christ paid our punishment – He was our sacrifice. But, as you read in Romans 6:23, God offers us this gift – absolutely FREE – no strings attached. Its nothing that we did to earn this gift, it was God who gave us this gift through His Son.
Now that we have ended our journey along Romans Road…friend, you yourself are now at a crossroads. Which way do you turn? Do you turn right and accept this free gift and an eternal home in Heaven? Do you recognize you are a sinner, that you deserve the punishment of Hell, but you believe God sent His Son to die for you?
Or do you turn left, ignoring all the danger signs along this road – turning down this road will lead to utter destruction for you.
We are praying you turn right – and accept this free gift. If you would like more information, please call the church or send us an email.
